This is just the latest development in our shop's long history! Richmond Music Shop has been proudly serving musicians and music institutions in and around Richmond since 1987.
Based in the heart of Richmond, London, we have always taken great pride in offering the best service at a competitive price. Whether you are looking for a new amp or a pre-owned violin, we can cater for most musical tastes. Our extensive range of instruments carries both student and professional models, new, second hand and ex-rental. All our staff and the owner are musically trained and through their indepth knowledge and expertise can offer guidance at all musicianship levels.
We have since 1995 had an onsite purpose-built instrument repair workshop. Our full-time wind instrument repairer is Kevin Hime-Knowles, who has vast experience which started in the early 80s at Boosey & Hawkes's Edgware factory.
Our Superb Selection of Vintage Saxophones and Clarinets
We are proud of our stock of secondhand woodwind and brass instruments.
We specialise in US and (when we can get them!) French saxophones, and
the very best used French clarinets. We always try to have saxophones
by Conn, King, Martin and Buescher, and many others. We offer top-quality
French clarinets by such makers as Selmer, Leblanc, Buffet, Marigaux,
Malerne and Noblet. All our instruments are sent out fully checked-out
and, where necessary, overhauled, and all carry a one-year guarantee.
We do Bb, A, alto and bass clarinets, and soprano, alto, tenor and baritone
saxes. If we do not have immediately exactly what you want, we usually
have ways of getting it soon. Please check our online inventory, it is updated daily!
We also
offer flutes, piccolos, oboes and bassoons, also all with a years
guarantee.
We also
stock new woodwind instruments. These always include Buffet flutes
and clarinets and Arbiter, Trevor James (The Horn) and Earlham saxes, but we frequently have
other makes on offer.
Brass
We are stockists of new B&S, Jupiter, Elkhart and Blessing trumpets and cornets, and usually
have other makes in stock new, including Bach, Besson and others.
We stock an enormous variety of other weird and wonderful brass
instruments, almost always including (apart from ordinary trumpets
and cornets) long model cornets, valve and slide trombones, euphoniums,
tenor horns and French horns.
Violins
Nowhere
in any all-purpose music shop in London will you see a range of
violins to equal ours. We always have enormous stocks of French,
German, English and other violins, ranging from £150 to £4,000.
We also stock violas and cellos as well as new instruments from Primavera and Intermusic.
Guitars
We aim to keep in stock a good selection of guitars: whether electric, acoustic or electroacoustic, new and secondhand, why not try us?
Our Fender starter packages are particularly popular, however we are also Squier, Epiphone and Vintage stockists. Tanglewood, Simon & Patrick and Westfield are our preferred makes for acoustic guitars.
As far as Classical guitars are concerned, we specialise in affordable Spanish
manufacturers such as Camps, Admira, Alhambra and Granados.
